Bringing Home the Heavy Metal for DIYSEO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Gold-Silver-W3-Davey-AwardsCHICAGO, IL – Vis-à-vis Creative Concepts was honored this week with three prestigious W3 Awards (two Golds and one Silver), and two Davey Awards (one Gold and one Silver), recognizing the outstanding merit of an animated Web video created for DIYSEO.

DIYSEO stands for “Do-It-Yourself-Search-Engine-Optimization.” By combining the knowledge of the industry’s top SEO pioneers with the latest Web technologies, DIYSEO delivers a high value, low cost solution for small to mid-sized businesses to take advantage of SEO opportunities, many for the first time ever.

Two Gold W3 Awards distinguish the DIYSEO Web video in the categories of Branded Content/Promotional Branding and Video Features /Writing; the Silver W3 Award in the category of Branded Content/Business to Business. The Gold Davey Award is in the Rich Media, B-to-B category; the Silver Davey recognizes the video’s Promotional/Branding impact.

Hosted on DIYSEO’s Home Page, the video provides visitors a comprehensive introduction into the world of SEO, and specifically, DIYSEO’s Web-based mechanism. Through hand-animated motion graphics, viewers are introduced to specific tactics including: on-site optimization, link building, local search, and social strategies.

“The video does a great job of explaining what we do and how we can help small to mid-sized businesses make great strides in SEO,” says Dan Olson, CEO of DIYSEO. “As an owner, Search Engine Optimization may seem both time-consuming and intimidating. Vis-à-vis helped us cut through that anxiety with a video that’s both fun and comprehensive, boiling down the key points into bit-sized concepts that are easy to understand. Thanks to Vis-à-vis, any business owner who watches the video immediately understands the value of SEO, and of a company like DIYSEO.”

George Simkins, President of Vis-à-vis Creative Concepts, remarks, “As speed and accessibility to the Web through mobile devices and tablets increases, animation and visual storytelling is in demand. Companies have more high-concept, Web-based applications to offer, while at the same time site visitors spend less time on a page. Animated videos are a great way to introduce people to your product or service.

“DIYSEO is a wildly creative company, founded by some of the Web’s original trendsetters who welcome new and imaginative ways to harness the power of the Internet. Our design sensibility fit very nicely with their mindset, and the results can be seen in the video.”

Sanctioned by the International Academy of Visual Arts (IAVA), The W3 Awards honor creative excellence on the Web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning sites, videos, marketing programs and mobile applications. The Davey Awards recognize the achievements of small design firms with big ideas that rival the creative output of larger advertising agencies.

In determining winners for each of the awards, entries are judged based on a standard of excellence as determined by the IAVA, according to the category entered. Fewer than 10% of all entries are selected as Gold Winners.
